The Sega Genesis debuted in North America August 14, 1989 and with it came a hand full of great games from a variety of genres. This list may differ depending on who you ask or where someone lived so my apologies if I have this wrong. I know that there is not a consensus as to how many of the early games are considered "launch games". These 6 were indeed launch games though so I wanted to talk a little about them and share some gameplay.

What other games were launched in your area?

Let's discuss and maybe I can do some videos on those as well.

I just love this great 16 bit game system and these early games showcase why that is.

Well... all except maybe Tommy Lasorda Baseball.
