Leninskiy Prospekt: Russian Current Events Update (Ruble Depreciation Drama)/Around My Neighborhood
While the weather has been nice here at the end of the summer, I figured I'd go out and walk about my neck of the woods here in Moscow to do two things. First, I want to give anyone watching an idea of what a (fairly) regular neighborhood outside the center of Moscow looks like, while pointing out some things of interest that people who have never been in the former Soviet Union might not otherwise appreciate and some sights that people who haven't been in the region might not know about. In addition to that, I wanted to run through some of the news events of the last month and a half that made a big splash here in Russia (for those who bother to pay attention to current events), starting with a discussion of the tumultuous situation surround the ruble's decline.
This is the first in a series of more informal/off-the-cuff vlog entires that I'll be doing on the channel in the near future, as it allows me to show off parts of the city while filling you all in on news that doesn't penetrate the Western consciousness
