You've been asking us for more https://www.squirrly.co/wordpress/plu... help with indexing your content. What I show you today will help you get new content found much faster by search engines... and you'll gain new ways of telling search engines that you've updated your content (written+media content and also Meta tags)
Well, go ahead and update your Squirrly SEO right now. We've promised IndexNow on our Next Steps video, but we've also added Google's Indexing API into the mix, to make things better for you.
To make the most out of this, make sure you do the following:
update the plugin to the latest version (12.1.19)
connect Google Search Console via API to your Squirrly SEO account (this is a vital step for making Google Indexing API work directly with your WordPress site). Do this step if you haven't done it already. Squirrly - SEO Configuration - Connect Tools
watch this super short video to see where you will find the settings.
If you make the settings, then every time you will publish new content for any post-type you have selected, your content will automatically get sent to Google:
via Google Indexing API
via sitemap
via Squirrly's pings
and they will also go to IndexNOW, to get your site covered on Bing and the other search engines included in IndexNow.
You also have many other options for getting your content indexed by search engines, including individual actions and bulk actions, as shown in the short video.
During the 14 Days Journey to Better Rankings, you saw that I mention going and doing a manual index. I still recommend that, if you want your changes to be noticed very fast, but you now have this other option to make your requests straight from WordPress, without having to leave the admin area.
If you will get the success message inside Index Now, it will mean that your content was successfully sent to both Google Indexing API and Index Now.
We're constantly updating Squirrly SEO for you. Here are more recent updates.
Keep Ranking,
Florin Muresan
