In a heartbreaking case from Kolkata, a young doctor was brutally raped and murdered, and now there's been another shocking development. The victim's mother has written a deeply emotional letter that reveals her daughter's dreams and hopes, which were tragically cut short by the crime. This letter shows us the hopes and dreams that were sadly taken away that night.
According to the Times Now reports, In a very emotional letter, the mother of the young woman who was raped and killed at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata shared that her daughter had dreamed of becoming a doctor since she was a child. The letter, written on Teacher's Day, expressed gratitude to all the teachers who helped her daughter reach her goal. She thanked them, saying they were a key part of making her daughter's dream come true.
In her open letter written on Teacher's Day, the mother of the trainee doctor said that thanks to great teachers like those reading the letter, her daughter was able to become a doctor. However, she sadly added that her daughter's dreams were cruelly cut short.
On the other hand, the mother shared that her daughter used to say, "I don’t need money. I just want to earn many degrees and help as many patients as I can."
The mother explained that even on the day she was attacked, her daughter helped many patients at the hospital. However, her dreams were violently ended by some terrible people. Her plan to become an MD gold medalist, which she made that night, was cut short. The mother also claimed that after the attack, the hospital and the authorities tried to cover up the evidence.
On August 9, the 31-year-old doctor was found dead in a seminar hall at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. This tragedy led to protests all over the country, with doctors going on strike to demand better safety at their workplaces.
The parents of the trainee doctor say that after the incident, the state police tried to bribe them and put pressure on them to quickly cremate their daughter's body.
The victim’s father said that from the start, the police tried to cover up the case. They were not allowed to see the body and had to wait at the police station while it was taken for an autopsy. When the body was finally returned to them, a high-ranking police officer offered them money, which they refused.
