Star Trek: Discovery is an American sci-fi action series created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman for CBS All Access. It is the seventh series in the Star Trek franchise and begins roughly a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series.

In the episode titled "That Hope Is You, Part 1," Michael Burnham helps protect an endangered "trance worm," which at one point eats her. It quickly spits her back out, however.
