Swift 5.5 and iOS 15 introduced a new API to format dates. This new way is much cleaner and more intuitive than the old DateFormatter(). This is not a replacement for that old method, as you will still need to use that in certain circumstances. But the new Formatter API in Swift 5.5 is an easier way to format most of the common date formats.
