After Effects & Red Giant VFX Suite | Chromatic Displacement Speaker Bass Waves
Alright let me start by saying that I didn't create this effect originally. I saw a video by Red Giant called "Getting Started with Chromatic Displacement" and the effect shown here is briefly touched on at the end of that video. I merely reversed engineered it based on what little was shown. I even got it to work with Sound Keys. It's a cool effect definitely and easier to pull off than I thought. Of course the original effect must have a lot more work done to it but this is the general gist of it.
