YAG laser capsulotomy is a super common, safe, simple outpatient procedure that is performed to treat posterior capsule opacification that occurs in about 33% of patients that have lens implants (after cataract surgery or premium lens replacement surgery). The procedure is painless, quick and highly successful at improving "cloudy, filmy or foggy vision" that occurs in 1/3 of patients over time after cataract or premium lens replacement surgery. The most common side-effect is floaters that some patients see after the treatment.
