In this how-to, I show you how to delete or remove an e-mail account off of your Android phone. I go over the process of deleting regular e-mail accounts (such as a yahoo, hotmail, godaddy, etc) and I also go over how to delete a Gmail account from the Gmail app.

To delete a regular e-mail account, go to the e-mail app on your phone and then it's settings. Click on the account you want to remove, and at the bottom you should see an option to "remove account."

To remove a Gmail account it works a little differently. Go to your phone's main settings app, then go to accounts & sync. Tap on the account you wish to delete, and then press menu thenremove account. Note that deleting a gmail account will stop it from being synced with your contacts and calendars as well.
