Today we will be discussing, installing, and demoing the Google Firebase Emulator. The Emulator is a great development tool for simulating Firebase features locally on your own computer. This includes Firestore, Realtime Database, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Hosting, and Cloud Functions. The emulator can help boost your productivity and development speed because you will never have to rely on the online version of Firebase since everything will be essentially running on your computer! The Firebase Emulator now comes with a wonderful UI that is very similar to the online UI for managing your different Firebase features. Unfortunately, Firebase Authentication and Storage are not yet available, but hopefully, they will be someday!
