Story sequence - Westopolis D - Digital H - Prison N - Sky H - Space N - Cosmic H

Story Summary - Shadow witnesses the nearby city of Westopolis being attacked by aliens, the leader of which, named Black Doom comes down and requests for shadow to collect the chaos emeralds and bring them to him. Doom then completely forgets his previous order and demands the extermination of the human soldiers, to which Shadow complies. Black Doom then uses his magic powers to warp shadow into a computer cyberspace to destroy the internet, but Shadow, not wanting to lose access to his anime collection, decides to betray Doom and help the humans find an emerald they already had in their secured mainframe instead. Doing this, Shadow is warped onto Prison Island where he remembers bits and pieces about being locked in his containment cell, and Doom comes back forgetting about Shadow's blatant betrayal, Shadow blatantly betrays him again and instead just focuses in on the emerald in the area. Black Doom, not liking being betrayed twice, gets his vengeance by teaching Shadow about a giant air fortress he brought to the earth a long time ago and kindly requesting not to be betrayed. Shadow of course, immediately betrays him in favor of helping Dr. Eggman stop the aliens advances. Sonic the appears on a spaceship saying that aliens were in space! Shocked by this baffling revelation, Shadow decides to travel with Sonic to this "space" place to see for himself. Shadow races Sonic to the emerald, and allows Sonic to win out of the goodness in his heart. Ironically being seen as less heroic than beating Sonic to a pulp. Shadow then meets with the G.U.N. Commander, and then walks away not even humoring his blatant lies. Shadow decides to help Vector find the computer room so that he can stabilize the ark before it falls apart. This upsets Doom for some reason so he tells Shadow that the commander was actually kind of sort of telling the truth. This makes Shadow mad so the two fight, Shadow wins and walks away sadly.

This is a part of my "Legend of the Blue Blur" series where I go through every sonic game ever made in order of release, generally to their maximum completion (as long as I'm not fighting against RNG).
