Yes, both my parents were born in Mauritius.
My dad is from Rose Hill and his family owns a store called Magazin Eros.
My mom’s family is from the capital of Mauritius called Port Louis.
They went on to study in Scotland then moved to Canada where I was born.
Do you speak creole
I grew up with my parents speaking to me in a mix of French, English, Creole and Hakka.
I don’t speak creole very well, but I do understand it.
I look Chinese because 3 percent of the Mauritian population are Sino-Mauritians and their lineage is from China.
