Hollywood's Woke Nightmare: Writers Strike Decimates the Industry
8-Bit Eric ( 8BE ) This Writers strike is the BEST thing to happen to WOKE Hollywood in ages. The conflict between film studios and The Writers Guild of America had been brewing for some time, but it finally came to a head when the writers went on strike to demand better compensation, residuals for streaming, and protection from AI. However, these are the same writers who have contributed to the downfall of Hollywood by prioritizing their own agenda and identity politics over creating compelling and entertaining stories. Many productions have been shut down as a result, which some people view as good news considering the poor quality of recent releases.
Late-night talk shows, such as Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert, have been hit particularly hard by the strike. These shows rely on large teams of writers to craft their monologues, but without them, the shows will go dark. This is particularly embarrassing since it shows that these hosts cannot simply talk off the cuff for 10 or 15 minutes like many other entertainers. They have become overtly political and unfunny, which has caused their ratings to plummet. Even though Fallon supported the strike publicly, he was criticized by a staffer for going to the Met Gala while the writers were striking.
Overall, the strike has caused significant disruption in Hollywood, but it also highlights the industry's reliance on writers and the need for them to focus on creating engaging stories rather than pushing their own agenda. Many late-night shows are off the air due to the strike, which some people see as a positive development considering their recent lack of quality.
