Risen Chameleos is an Elder Dragon and Risen variant of Chameleos first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Its appearance is noticeably different from a standard Chameleos, now being mostly gray and black with some areas (such as its head, feet, wingarms, and tail) still being slightly purple. Its body is covered in wounds resembling burns, which have a bright orange glow upon entering its Risen state. This version of Chameleos has overcome being afflicted by the Qurio and has become more powerful as a result. It gains more attacks with its tongue and its poisonous breath than before including the ability to create a large poisonous cloud in front of it before slamming it with its tail causing a massive explosion. Its tongue can drag hunters towards it allowing it to perform an a deadly body slam, while also stealing at least one Spiribird effect from the hunter unless they have the armour skill Teostra Blessing, which negates Theft. Risen Chameleos has new ways to utilize its poisonous breath like to fire globs of poison while invisible, spraying noxious gas in a wide area, and to send poisonous globs in multiple directions around it. It can enter the Risen state when enraged.
