Both retail and institutional investors enthusiastically invested in these IPOs, expecting significant listing gains. As a result, 2023 stood as the second-highest year in terms of the number of mainboard IPOs hitting the market.
But what lies ahead for IPO investors in 2024? More than 50 companies are poised to introduce their IPOs, collectively worth over Rs 60,000 crore.

According to experts, the robust IPO subscription and growth momentum of 2023 are likely to continue in 2024 due to optimistic market sentiments in India.
In 2023, the NIFTY50 index surged by over 18%, and this momentum is expected to persist in the first half of 2024, driven by robust economic growth, anticipated rate cuts from the US Federal Reserve and RBI, and ample liquidity in Indian markets.
As of now, 27 companies have received SEBI approval for their IPOs, while 29 others are awaiting approvals. The cumulative fundraising through IPOs for these companies could surpass Rs 60,000 crore.
In 2024, expect IPOs from notable names like Ola Electric, Swiggy, and FirstCry, each projected to raise Rs 4,000 crore according to media reports.
Consumer-oriented companies like OYO Rooms, Tata Play, Ebix Cash, and Go Digit General Insurance are also anticipated to launch their IPOs in 2024.
Experts predict that companies from the manufacturing and financial services segments will take the lead in the IPO market in 2024. The manufacturing sector may see increased IPOs due to India's growing capital expenditure in manufacturing and a slowdown in China's industrial activity.
