The all-new Mercedes EQE AMG is unquestionably quick in a straight line, and in many ways has the trappings of an AMG product. Making 617 HP (or 677 with overboost) and over 700 lb/ft, it gets up and goes. It's got big (optional) ceramic brakes, and a well-sorted suspension. It's even got great seats, and a lot of AMG styling cues we are used to. BUT an AMG has always been, at heart, about the engine - specifically an engine with a great soundtrack. In the case of the EQE, the AMG soundtrack is literally composed, digital music, with a special stereo to play it.
