Last Monday, the first cohort of Barbadians were sworn in as Justices of the Peace. That group included 25 people out of the scheduled 100 for the day and featured retired permanent secretaries, business people, attorneys, reverends, community practitioners and more.
The ceremony was repeated all week as there were almost 350 people scheduled to take the oath and affirmations.
Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams was present and he spoke about the importance of the role in society.
