Hi, I’m Leah from Rampley & Co and today I’m joined by fashion consultant Chris Moodoo and we will be discussing our flannel trousers.

So firstly we are going to talk about the fabric, these trousers are a beautiful soft wool cashmere by Loro Piana. They are a mid weight three season wear trouser and Chris would you like to elaborate a little bit more on Loro Piana. Yes certainly, Loro Piana have been trading for over 100 years, they are one of the best Italian mills and I particularly love their flannels. They are beautiful, they always get their colours just right, they’ve got wonderful drape and they are a lot softer them some of the sort of traditional English harsh flannels but the colours are amazing. What I love about this, when you look closely, you can see shades of off-white, shades of mid tone greys and charcoals and this creates this depth of colour, wonderful with a navy blazer.

So moving onto the fit, these trousers have a medium rise, a flat front and are naturally tapered to the hem. They have a very elegant silhouette where they follow the customers leg straight down to the hem, without being baggy or skinny. Really versatile because you can wear them formally with loafers and a shirt, tie and blazer but equally with sneakers and a knitwear. That is complimented by the flat front style, there is no excess fullness in the front with pleats, very modern but still very classic. What you said about the medium rise, that is so important. To get a pic of trousers which you want to wear again and again and they’re comfortable. If they’re too low, you’re constantly tugging them up, if they’re too high you are very aware of them on your stomach. So this is a much more comfortable elegant way of wearing your trousers.

Our flannel trousers come with side adjusters which means you don’t wear a belt with them, Chris, what do you think of side adjusters? I am a fan of the style, very much in the bespoke hand made tradition of tailoring. From a practical point of view, not wearing a belt is slimming, it means you don’t have to worry about wearing a matching colour belt to your shoes or accessories. Also by not breaking the silhouette in half, it can make you look a bit taller. So from a practical point of view it is also great. They style of this is really nice too, it has a mitred end like an arrowhead so it a very clean elegant way of finishing a trouser.

Our flannel trousers are supplied un-hemmed which allows you to finish them however you like. I think at this quality it is a very good feature. Having the right inside leg and the right hem, it really enhances the look of them. It is easy to get done, you local dry cleaners always has a good alterations tailor, go in there, wear them and get them fitted to how you like them. They have a lovely good inside leg, there is a good length on there. So if you prefer a turn-up, there is enough cloth for that. Also if you are going to wear them with boots or trainers, wear the right shoes so that they can get them exactly how you like it and it just enhances the overall look.

We hope you enjoyed this video on our flannel trousers, thanks for watching and we will see you next time.
