Prunus mume is one of the first trees to start flowering in the beginning of the year. With that, it is a great species for bonsai to have in the garden. However, the Japanese apricot also has a tendency to get leggy, with very difficult back budding. Some pruning tips can help to increase back budding and promote better ramification!
