Joaquin Phoenix has a perfect circle tattooed on the inside of his left bicep in real life, but they had to digitally remove it in every shot where the Joker is seen shirtless.

The stairs Arthur Fleck repeatedly goes up and down towards the end of the film are now known as the Joker Stairs. They’re a step street that connects Shakespeare and Anderson Avenue in New York City.

The curtains that can be seen behind Robert De Niro during the stand up stage act are a reference to the curtains found on the Johnny Carson TV Show which have the same design.
