The Winchesters almost ended up with a different car. Kripke originally wanted them to drive a 1965 Ford Mustang, but his neighbor pointed out that he should use a car that they could hide a body in. He said that the car should be the type where people lock their doors when they ride up to it at a light. So, he went with the 67 Chevy Impala instead. Also, during an episode in season two, Sam mentions that he thinks that he broke his hand, and in the next few episodes, he is seen with a cast on. This is because Jared actually broke his hand during a stunt, so they ended up writing the injury into the storyline.
