I'm sure SEGA was really kicking themselves for agreeing to do the Olympic game series once they realized that it would mean putting their characters in the water, thereby requiring bare feet. They managed to find a way to weasel out of it by slapping on weird, lazy-looking slipper socks... It looks really out of place and really makes the whole thing weirder than it has to be, especially since it's not like the feet of Sonic characters is a particularly well guarded secret (Hell, Big the Cat was just in a game). Nevertheless, I kind of like to imagine the Sonic characters being insecure about their feet - meaning that Blaze must really be embarrassed at having her tootsies broadcasted to millions of viewers.
