More about autoimmune epilepsy:
Autoimmune epilepsy (AE) is caused by a change in the body’s immune function.
AE often begins with seizures developing over days to weeks.
People with cancer, a history of another autoimmune disease, or a parent, sibling or child with an autoimmune disease may be more likely to develop autoimmune epilepsy.
Immunotherapy, such as steroids, may be a very effective treatment.
