At Grinding Hub 2024, ANCA is celebrating a significant milestone—its 50th anniversary—by showcasing the latest advancements in CNC tool and cutter grinding technology. Among the highlights is the introduction of their newly launched ToolRoom RN35 software and the CIM3D Simulator. Founded in 1974 by Pat McCluskey and Pat Boland, ANCA has grown to become a leader in the industry, consistently introducing innovations that enhance precision and efficiency in tool manufacturing.
On the event's second day, Hari Shanker, Managing Editor of Machine Maker, sat down with Santosh Plakkat, Product Manager at ANCA CNC Machines, to discuss the impact of the new ToolRoom RN35. Plakkat emphasized the software's capacity to significantly boost productivity and profitability for cutting tool manufacturers. He highlighted key features such as enhanced cycle time reduction by up to 20%, improved tool quality, and advanced statistical process control which streamline operations and reduce waste.
Plakkat also detailed the RN35’s new developments, including the integration of material removal rate calculations that automate setting parameters for consistent removal rates, effectively reducing air-time. He explained how profile fluting capabilities have been enhanced to support complex tool geometries, thereby optimizing the performance and lifespan of cutting tools.
Concluding the interview, Plakkat reiterated ANCA's commitment to innovation and customer support, underscoring how the company’s in-house production of complete machine systems—including CNC, precision motors, spindles, and polymer concrete bases—allows for holistic advancements in software and hardware.
